Rituals

I realized the type of person I am (very anal of CERTAIN stuff) that I have rituals that I do everyday. For example in the morning right when I wake up:
  1.  I text Richard. It's usually just saying, "Boo!"and he'll be sweet enough and play along and say, "Ahh!" back.
  2. Check my emails.
  3. Check Facebook and usually read all the notifications that I have received during the night.
  4. Check SFgate.com for mine and Richard's horoscopes.
  5. Do my bathroom ritual
  6. Make coffee while the laptop warms up.
  7. Read blogs and surf the net.
It does get a bit more neurotic because I do have my night rituals as well. Maybe it's an early sign of OCD? I remember when I was younger I would have trouble going to sleep if my ritual wasn't done right. I don't know how I was able to relax throughout the years but I feel like since I have SOOO much time that it may start up again.

Anywho, I went on a Safeway run because Fage yogurt was 4 for $4 and Honey Bunches of Oats were 3 for $5. While I was in the yogurt aisle I saw this:
Athenos Greek yogurt. It probably was their next step in a new product after hummus.
The shape of the container reminds me of cottage cheese doubles but it was a bit pricey. It was on sale for $1.50.
However, it was delicious! There was plenty of honey to mix in and I didn't mix the honey all the way so I can get huge blobs of honey in my mouth. It was kind of hard to transport all the honey into the yogurt but I'm guessing Fage probably has their awesome honey transporter pantented so everyone has to do it the hard way.

It was yums and maybe if it gets cheaper than $1.50 (I mean Fage is usually $1.50 NOT on sale!) then I would buy some more.

Now I will be noshing on some delish Greek yogurt because I made myself hungry.

  2. My daughter loves that honey/yogurt combo - but your right, it is a bit $$!

Recently my store had Chobani on sale 10 for $10! :D

I have no rituals, but I am sure my daughter does - I drive her crazy with my lack of organization! :D

  4. I actually don't have very consistent rituals. I do SORT of but they are very bendable and seem to shift a bit on the daily. I seem to be odd man out because it seems like having regular consistent rituals are more the norm! I blame a bit of it on my schedule being different with classes each day. Hard to keep up a daily routine that way!
Greek yogurt is so darn expensive. Worth the splurge though!

  5. when i was a kid i knew exactly how many steps from the front door to the school bus at the gate an i had to make just that many or start again. thankfully i was precise, if a little odd. i can't believe i just admitted this in a public forum.

  6. That is one of my goals for the month of March - set healthy rituals that I follow everyday.

I think rituals give a nice sense of stability in day to day life - a much needed thing nowadays!

  7. I don't know if I get the whole Greek yogurt thing... I mean, it's good, but I would NEVER count it as a dessert. Guess that says something about my self-control (or lackthereof...). And I'm a ritual girl as well; my lunchtime bagel and strict Diet Coke schedule seriously get me through my day.
