Cabin Fever

Many people would say that if they had a certain amount of free time they would be doing things they've always wanted. For instance, writing a memoire, running a marathon or doing many different hobbies. I wish that was the case for me. I am bored out of my mind! There are seriously too many hours in a day and many of my friends work so I'm either at home, trying to work out, walking the dogs or simply trying to kill time by reading or blogging. My sister told me I have cabin fever and I agree.

On this leisurely morning I awoke at 7 and had a huge cup of coffee.
Two hours later I had a bowl of Trader Joe brand honey nut cheerios and it was pretty awesome but really sweet. I am used to eating plain cheerios or rice krispies so it was bit of a sugar rush. Made my milk really sugary. I originally wanted to buy freeze-fried strawberries or frosted flakes but I'm guessing they are discontinued? Makes me sad =(

Then I went to Costco with my mama and sis and I was feeling kind of faint during. I had half a baguette on my drive back to my house. Cereal is seriously like crack but no staying power. Too bad.
Then for dinner my sister and I had Chipotle. I had a salad since the bread filled me up. A Chipotle had opened up not even 5 minutes away from my house and have been there about 4 times withing it's opening a month ago. The same guy always helps me and I told my sister if he says something today that I need to quit Chipotle a bit. We see he's ringing up people and when we were about to pay he asks, "back again?"

FAIL.

V-Day Pictures

Richard finally uploaded our amateur pictures from our weekend and sent over a couple.
This one is my favorite. I was putting on lipstick (MAC lady gaga) and used the mirrored closet door. It also captured Richard taking the picture. Pretty awesome!
I put on some MAJOR lashes. Definitely Erin-inspired!
Then at Carmel Beach. I wish I had better clothes but didn't bring shirts or pants and didn't feel like wearing a dress. I wanted to wear a bra for once LOL. Yes, I don't wear bras unless I absolutely HAVE to.

I'm such a free spirit.

Crap Pizza

I had date night with Richard last night since we had to cancel our weekly therapy session and he will be snowboarding this weekend =(

Good for him but I will be here pining for him.

Anyways, we met up in "our city," Palo Alto and had dinner and Starbucks. This is the city we hopefully will move together one of these days.

We were at Stanford mall and I wanted to try this pizzeria when we had California Pizza Kitchen one night. It looked like a legit pizzeria! It's called Babbo Pizzeria and it was seriously not worth my time and money.
First off, when I walked into the restaurant I saw this plate of bread near the entrance and realized I was served the same plate of bread when I bit into it. It tasted like day old Pizza Hut pizza crusts. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Pizza Hut oily crusts but when it's at a supposedly "fancy shmancy" restaurant? It's not good at all!

Well I was craving pizza and caesar salad so I depended on those dishes to make it up to me.
There were many things wrong with this salad
  1. I seriously had to pay $10 to cut my own salad?
  2. The "croutons" were baked with cheese and then slathered with more cheese. I mean I love cheese but it made it that much saltier.
  3. TOOOO much dressing and those anchovies were BAD.
The pizza was okay. It was $15 for the size of a dinner plate. Richard and I split the pie but you have to realize Richard is about a foot taller and about 100lbs heavier than me and I was really hungry by the end of the night. So imagine Richard probably starving to death. Poor kid =(

Then we headed off to Starbucks.
I had a grande green tea and tried to fit in with all them Stanford kids. It is such a nice Starbucks! Stanford kids are REALLY spoiled. I mean they all had Macbooks and even one kid had an iPhone, Macbook Pro and an iPad. I mean first they get to go to a beautiful school with a beautiful campus but a unversity surrounded with delicious eats and this gorgeous Starbucks. I guess they do deserve it since they might be future surgeons or what nots.
They even had a fireplace and couches and long Hogwart's-like tables. I didn't take a lot because they seemed annoyed of me because I'm such a loud girl. One guy with a bunch of papers was giving me the stank eye.

2. Taupe
Excuse my tired face because it was raining like crazy and I didn't do drag-queen makeup like I usually do when I go out.

Anywho, I am obsessed with taupe! It is my favorite neutral of the moment and it goes with EVERYTHING. I am not one to wear a ton of colors and usually stray on the other side of the rainbow so it's a nice change that I like something like this.
Gap peacoat circa 2007, Jcrew black cardigan, F21 taupe tank over F21 white tank, Marc by Marc Jacobs belt, Vince equestrian black pants, Corso Como riding boots and carrying a Marc Jacobs clutch in Taupe
My original plan was to wear suede heels but since it was raining cats and dogs I had to abort the plan and wear boots.

Revlon Grey Suede and Essie Matte about you
You can't really tell by any of my pictures but my nails were a matte taupe too!! Such a sophisticated color yet subtle so you're not feeling too exposed. I feel like I am somewhat mature wearing this color as well! It is magic I tell ya!

I wish I didn't lose my good camera at the club. I have to depend on crappy digital cameras or iPhone cameras until I can afford to buy a DSLR.

Well it is raining still so I will be thinking of what to do. I have this itch to go downtown and go to Borders since it's the first one closing and it will be having a liquidation sale!

Be safe!

 Random

I know my blog has been random lately but I think it's just because I find a lot of simple things worth blogging about or I have too many interests! However, I hope you gals are enjoying my little rants and ramblings!

Anyone watch I used to be Fat? I love it! I never watched it on tv but I caught it on OnDemand and it's so inspiring! I've never seen a bunch of people so determined and so driven and I cried in almost every episode I've watched. It makes me wonder if I can help change peoples' lives in a wonderful way like these trainers have been. Time for a career change maybe?

Anyways look at this gnarly thing:
This little doggie always gives me trouble. You let him go outside to pee and play a little and he comes back with a slug on his back. I didn't feel comfortable killing or squishing the poor thing so my sister got it off and left it outside. We're very buddhist-like like that.
I also found this big stone ring at Forever 21. I am loving big-stoned rings lately and color combinations. My favorite color combinations are: navy and black (the favorite of all at the moment), peach and gold, black and black just because everyone looks good in all black. Plus it's so simple that you can really leave the accessories and makeup to do all the talking ;)

3. Utensils
I am always on the prowl for cute utensils and found a couple! Most of these I didn't pay more than a dollar for and the metal ones in the middle are from CB2. I think you can get 5 for about $6? Not too shabby and the spoon is great for yogurts! In which case I am looking for the perfect yogurt spoon at the moment.

Any suggestions?

Rainy Day

I woke up feeling like poopoo today. The weather is also super rainy and stormy. Perfect for my mood. My puppy, Maximus (well he's not a puppy but he will always be called one by me!), is sick as well. He is vomiting and diarrheaing all night and I think it may had to do with those mint a bones from Trader Joe's to freshen up his breath. For those with dogs please don't get those! My dog has a stomach of steel and can pretty much eat anything without throwing up or his butt exploding so it's a telltale sign that those bones are no bueno!

Anywho what has been exploding out of my butt?

Brussel sprouts, broccoli and sweet potatoes. Yes, that question was inappropriate but totally necessary!
I also had brussel sprouts and tomato avocado salad with some rotisserie chicken and it is now safe to say that I am not eating chicken anymore. I saw some sort of organ on my piece and it made me gag my brussel sprouts! Yuck!
Salvaged the meal with some garlic fries from Trader Joes. I did my own little twist and added lemon juice and parmesan cheese. Yummy

Obsession
4. Erin Lucas, Bangs, Brown hair
I have been obsessed with Erin Lucas since I saw her grace the tv screen on The City. She has the brown hair I've always wanted and dared me to cut bangs like her 3 times now. 1 of those 3 times were successful and right now I'm growing out the bangs I cut myself so I can start over again! Doesn't she look gorgeous? She also always wears a gorgeous coral lipstick that I am dying to get!

Who is your celebrity icon?

The Different Faces of Annie Shin

I have a hard time taking pictures of myself. It may be the lack of confidence but you know what? I don't give a shit anymore!

Besides all that I still had a hard time which look I like or how to smile LOL.

The last one is what I look like everyday. The crazy hair is natural. I wake up to that mop of a head every morning. The hot pink lips is due to the inner drag queen in me.

***

Lately, I've been getting picture texts and it always brings a smile to my face. The biggest one that brings me joy are these:

I think it's a sign because the top one is from Richard and the bottom one is from my bestie, Jena, and both were sent to me after having a great time together. Totally random and never have gotten picture texts from them except for these.

Now, when I see a rainbow it makes me very happy!

Obsessions

So I will be having a new segment in my blog called Obsessions. I will be counting down 5 obsessions per week and why I am obsessed at the moment.

5. Red Lips
I love red lips. I think it started when I was a little girl and I would watch my grandma put her makeup on before she went out. When she would be absent, I would tiptoe carefully into her room and then smear the red lipstick onto my lips and pretend I was older while walking around my house tiptoeing like I was wearing heels. She then would scold me for putting on her makeup and was forbidden to do it ever again. The next few times I would do it on the shy but she would figure it out somehow like finding tissue paper with red lipstick smeared on it in the trash.

As I grew older I started becoming obsessed with fashion and old Hollywood actresses and they all had red lips in common. It's kind of hard for me to wear red lipstick sometimes because in Korea, red lips mean you work at bars or something low-class so my mom would never respond nicely to my red lips.

What do I do and say to that? I am American and red lips here are FAB!
